What should I know about a Hong Kong stopover

If you’re staying in Hong Kong consider an Octopus Card for easy travel payments. This is used to pay for trains, busses, ferries some food shops around train stations, 7-11 stores and other places. If you’re coming early or staying on after the team it’s worth the purchase. You pay a deposit of $HK50 then another $HK100 to cover purchases. When you use the train you just swipe the card and it deducts your travel, no cash required. When you fly home you hand back the card and get your deposit plus any unused credit back.

Credit cards are used much more in Hong Kong than mainland China but maybe not in the small restaurants.
