We are a faith based organisation providing life changing education to children and women in rural Asia. Because every child deserves a hope for the future.
Our Story
Heart for Kids is a Christian organisation that has served since 2005. We are a hands‑on ministry that serves children individually and with care, partnering closely with our in-country staff and local partners.
We began as ChinaHeart, focused on caring for orphans and children facing extreme hardship. In 2014, we felt called to expand our work. By building strong, local partnerships, we began serving in India and Indonesia in 2016, bringing hope, support, and life‑changing opportunities to more children and families.
Our Mission
Every child deserves to know they are loved – by those around them and by Jesus. We focus on meeting essential needs that open the door to dignity, health, and opportunity:
- Clean, safe water in rural villages.
- Access to education for children who would otherwise miss out.
- Support for children to stay in school or attend child-centred programs where schools don’t exist.
Clean water and education are foundational to a child’s wellbeing. That’s why they’re at the heart of everything we do.
Together
Through faithful partnership, we’ve been able to make a tangible impact:
Safe water: Nearly 180,000 people gained access to clean water from 2020 to 2026.
Crisis support: Over 8,000 food parcels delivered to vulnerable families during COVID‑19.
Women’s empowerment: 40 women each year receive tailoring training and resources to start small businesses in Indian urban slums.
Education: More than 220 children annually are supported with opportunities to learn and grow.
We have also led nearly 70 short term teams to China, India and Sumatra.

We Believe
Heart for Kids believes that our faith unites us with others and leads us to reach out to children in need. We believe we are called to help the orphaned and marginalised as spoken of in James 1:27. Where possible, we serve with other organisations with kindred spirits.
Heart for Kids is not affiliated with any denomination. We’re an inter-church evangelical Christian ministry who believe in the following:
- God reveals Himself to us through Himself and through the Holy Bible.
- Jesus exemplified God’s Kingdom and we strive to follow His example.
- God desires for all people to be in relationship with Him.
- Jesus died and rose again to life.
- The Holy Spirit enables us to do good works.
- The global Christian Church is designed to work together in unity to complete the work to which we have been called.
- Prayer is a key part of the work we do.
