Volunteering with Heart for Kids

Volunteering with us can look like many things — packing sponsorship materials from home, joining a short-term team overseas, helping at a local event, or lending your skills behind the scenes. Whatever shape it takes, we want it to be a genuinely good experience for you as well as for the children and communities we serve. Here’s what we believe about volunteering, and what you can expect as part of the Heart for Kids family.

Things to remember when you support
Heart for Kids as a volunteer

  • Volunteering benefits both the community and the volunteer — it’s not one-sided.
  • Your volunteer work is unpaid, and it’s always your choice — never an obligation.
  • Volunteers don’t replace paid workers, and never threaten anyone’s job security.
  • Volunteering is a genuine way to take part in the life of your community.
  • It’s a way for individuals and groups to address real human, environmental and social needs.
  • Above all, volunteering respects the rights, dignity and culture of the people we serve — and as a volunteer, you help promote that same respect and equality wherever you go.

Lets Talk

We’d love to keep in touch with occasional news

Safe water bores are currently being installed in 1 village per month.

That keeps between 1300 and 2000 children and family members safe.

We would love to do more.
